Off topic Gailbraith About thirty years ago, Pierre Trudeau became prime minister of Canada. The writings of Gailbraith had been taken to heart by this new Prime Minister and he promptly put JKG's ideas into practice. (The affluent Society) This set our country on a course toward economic impoverishment for which we have yet to recover. Cheers, PW. P.S. Our dollar is worth U$0.65 today and our unemployment rate just recently dipped below ten percent. When Trudeau took office, our dollar was worth U$1.05 and our unemployment rate was about half. Canadians enjoyed incomes about 95% of those in U.S. then and about 75% today. I'd advise anyone to consider the results of JKG's thinking before forming any conclusions about their validity.
