Dear Mr Jacobs
I.M.H.O.Upon review of the last 6 month's of posts on S.I,clearly we can conclude a negative tone towards you,and your ability to manage PYNG.
Many CEO'S would have stopped posting at that point.
However you choose not to ignore the many diverse opinions which some of the posters on S.I directed towards you.
And ,what seemed to me ,you always replied in a direct, straight forward "no non-sense manner".
The fact that you are now planning a plaque for the winner of LOR'S contest indeed shows a lot of character.
The real reward will be reflected in the share price, when contract's are signed and orders will come in,ect.
Regards GWD

"First Order for Mass Produced FAST-1" Contest

Dear Mike,

Thanks for your input expressing concern about the rules for the contest.

I have just checked Jack's summary of the guesses todate. If I read
correctly, we have a grand total of only 20 entries and only one date [ Nov.
15 ] has been selected by more then one person.

As everybody has already submitted guesses for the "first" order [ both
date and size ] I wonder if the following would be feasible:

For purposes of this contest define "first" order as the "first written official
purchase order document" to arrive at PYNG's headquarters by hand, mail,
fax or e-mail. In the event of a tie [ example: 3 orders arrive by mail on
December 18,1999 at 10:15 am Vancouver time and another order arrives by
fax at precisely the same time ] then throw all 4 orders into a hat and have
your secretary pick the "first" order at random. The only problem I can see
with this approach would be if a PYNG representative "picks up" an official
purchase order document while visiting a client or distributor. In that case
I'm sure the individual could recall the time he/she picked the order up. If it
was before December 18, 10:15 am then it becomes the "first" order.

In this hypothetical case where December 18, 1999 is the date of arrival of
the first order as defined above, none of the contestants would have
selected the correct date. Two contestants ( Della/5100-5500/99-12-15 ) and
(GWD/8500-8900/99-12-21) would be the closest and equally close to
December 18. If the order was for less then 7,000 units then Della is the
winner. If it is more the 7,000 units the GWD gets the plaque. In the unlikely
but not imposssible event that the first order is exactly for 7,000 units then
we have a tie in which case I can think of two possibilities:

1) two plaques,

2) Both names go on the plaque as "co-winners" and the plaque spends 6
months of every year with both winners.

I hope the above is workable. However, if you still feel it is necessary to
modify the rules further please let us know.

LOR

P.S. - Seeing as how you will undoubtably be announcing PYNG's first
order on or before this friday the problem of picking the "winner" won't be
all that difficult [ just joking of course ].

Dear Mike,

I hope things went well for PYNG during this week's Vegas trip. I understand from Jack's post to this forum that PYNG succeeded in getting one of the better locations. Having taken part in a number of trade shows over the years I know that can be an important component in catching the eye of possible new clients. It also helps to have nice cushie seats, hand outs etc.etc.etc. assuming the booth is big enough.

I assume the suggestions I put forward concerning the rules for our current contest in response to your posted concerns [ Post 4683 ] are O.K.

I'm fairly sure it shouldn't be a big problem to determine the winner regardless of the date the first order arrives. Anyway, I also trust and am looking forward to you announcing that first M.P. order on or before October 19 [ wink...wink..nudge..nudge ] which of course will simply things greatly.
