Did anyone notice the insider sales in BARRONS today? Some individual selling 1,000,000 shares =$46,000,000.Yikes! That makes me nervous!

Has there been any news this weekend, other than the Barron's article? The shares sold by Dell insider's is just business as usual, so that did not bother me. Since the Market is closed Monday, I guess everyone on Wall Street has headed out of town...

I hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Leigh

Off topic -- Canadian sorta-socialism ...

I'm really not absolutely sure that Canadians' long established tradition of looking out for each other is such a bad thing. As a nation, we've faced quite a few challenges and have managed to work together in overcoming them. What I think has happened the last few decades is people have started looking to government as a first resort instead of a last resort. Couple this with politicians who take advantage of this attitude and pander to every special interest which looks promising for a few votes and we have an environment where squawking in Ottawa pays higher dividends than hard work. People adjust their behaviour to maximize their reward, and, at least in Canada, a dollar is easier plucked from a taxpayer's pocked than earned.

The principle is simple: If a behaviour is rewarded, we'll get more of it. Today, we seem to be rewarding parasites, so we shouldn't be surprised to see their population explode. (Which it has!)

This weekend, we're celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving Day. We have much to be thankful for in our nation. I'd like to focus on this for the remainder of the weekend and put aside thinking about those areas which need some improvement.

Cheers, PW.
