Assuming you are a buyer, I think what happens is that you get an ISLD fill on a market order (placed with Datek) if the ISLD best ask is equal to
the best ask as reported on Level 2 (i.e., by those making a market in the stock and/or by any other ECNs with orders on the books). This assumes
that sufficient shares are available at the best ask on the ISLD book to meet your market order.


Gary, a good explanation. However, with Datek, even if the best ask is less than the number of shares I want to buy, I get a a partial fill of those shares immediately for the market order, and the remainder of the order is Selectnet'ed out to Nasdaq.
