I didn't criticize him for serving, or for serving in the best way he could, in Culver City; and in fact I explicitly made that clear. You know what I criticized him for, I think. I've said it enough for you to. Ish, did your sweetie live down the road from you when you were posted in Germany? Did you spend weekends with her? Did you come home and ignominiously imply to one and all that you had made a sacrifice you had not, but others had? All during the war Reagan was portrayed in the movie magazines as "away at war," and Jane as the lonely wife waiting at home. It must have been soooo tempting to keep up the pretense just a little longer. As that left wing extremist George Schultz said, Reagan deceived himself "about facts that didn't suit him." I never have liked bs artists. I'm surprised you like this man, Ish; you are his opposite number, is my impression. I will answer what's posted, so don't complain. Not you, either, Joan!
