I hate to say it, but the 90's might be the decade that Country music finally went big, but there's the class thing preventing recognition. Not that I am a fan of country, myself. I don't think they are going by sales, though, it looks like someone tried to pick who's paradigmatic. Maybe it would be more PC to say the 90's is the decade of women's music, and pick Alanis Morrisette, or Jewel, or Hole.

But the Beastie Boys are just white rap, they aren't anything groundbreaking.
