Two points this early Sunday morning. Athlons are all over the newspaper ads here in eastern NY state. Also the 150K units in inventory from last qtr will drop to the bottom line this qtr since costs were already accounted for in this earnings statement. I believe that these may be faster chips than they were intended to be sold as and can now be marked as they were speed binned to faster Mhz.If so then the ASAPs may be much higher as well. Lots of screwdriver shops around here are also talking up the Athlon now that it is coming available. I think that Gateway will very much regret its decision and IBM and Compaq will be the beneficiaries. Frankly, I don't care if AMD ever sells to Dell since Mike Dell is such an incredible jerk. Plenty of other company that can sell athlons.

Re: "Guess what, Overclocking is now official Intel policy. Active cooling is a euphemism for this attempt to contain the Athlon. What will the AThlon do with active cooling"

They both have "active cooling". It's called a "fan".
