i2 and B2B a Chimp with an Attitude

These guys are argueably a top player in the hot B2B sector, their 15% pop on Friday resulted in not one message posted on any message board that my Company Sleuth account tracks. This tells me i2 is off the radar screen of most small investors, but trading 3X normal volume Fri. means the pro's are following closely.

Here's a good overview, be sure to read all three pages

upside.com

Here's their 1st real ecommerce sale, note that 7000 suppliers are going to have to buy i2 software if they want to continue to sell to Home Depot.

biz.yahoo.com

Fortune Magazine names i2 as one of Americas fastest growing companys, in the tornado?

biz.yahoo.com

And finally thier web site where you can find an incredable value chain slowly building. IBM, NEON, HP, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Oracle and on and on.

i2.com

And more finally if you follow "Creating Intelligent E Business" on thier web site you get "the plan"

OK I've got to stop this

Good Reading
Doug

Pala......EMC

My recommendation would be to go to the EMC board and follow all of Bill Fischofer's posts in the recent past. Or to directly PM him and Chaz, each of whom have good knowledge of EMC.

As for me, I wish I had more EMC, because network storage will only grow. But like Lindy said the other day, there are too many goodies and not enough money.

<<Any Opinions About EMC Out There?>>

I was in EMC for a while recently, then pulled out to put more funds into QCOM and GMST. I was doing a combined EMC-NTAP play on the storage sector, which obviously has great prospects over the next few years. Both EMC and NTAP seemed excellent companies with excellent potential, kings of their respective areas perhaps, not competing directly at the moment but possibly down the road. I never heard anything but good news and recommendations about either company, and the basic logic of the play never lost its appeal. But it just seemed less lively and interesting than the primates discussed more frequently around here, so I left for greener pastures. Of course, the minute I did both shot up, which partly explains why I'm interested in improving my timing!

Anyhow, bottom line is that both EMC and NTAP struck me then and still strike me now as excellent long-term investments that will outperform the market for years to come. But they paled a bit in comparison to super-excellent investments like the Mighty Q.

PS for what it's worth, I found the Motley Fool's EMC board to be consistently excellent....
