Giraffe, I doubt mining cos' hedging has a significant impact on POG.
May be some but not a lot.
After all all these guys wanted to do is survive
a few years till the POG went up. So they hedged.
What's the big deal?

The recent swing in the POG had mostly to do with
the psychological impact of the CB decision to stop
selling gold as well as early signs of inflation.
That's what made gold go up.

Historically the POG has been mostly influenced by
thoughts on inflation or not, as well as supply and
demand, as in the 70s when SAfrica was the biggest
producers and DeBeers made certain that they only
put out just enough to keep the price stable,
