Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd both started in the 1960's, although they were big in the early 1970's. They were wonderful, and I have most of their albums, but they didn't change the world, IMO, they just made it a better place. There's an SI thread devoted to suggesting the best music groups of all time, I used to post there, can't remember the name, you might search for it.
