thejerk,

Re: " ... I can understand you being excited about that split and wanting to show
it off. But even with that split my calculations show that intc is up only 33%
from 11/98 til now, better than AMD of course ..."

Well I can understand your "jealousy" about INTC stock splits ... I mean,
AMD hasn't had one since, oh 1983. Also thejerk, you might want
to review this chart: -->

siliconinvestor.com

This says that INTC has done about 75% (a little better than the NASDAQ),
while AMD has done about 5% ... I know, I know ... AMD has more "potential". But
they also have poorer shareholders. I bet that really makes you "proud". <ggg>

Make It So,
Yousef

intEL, in all seriousness, may be showing signs of serious and real strain. If, indeed, they have resorted to "active cooling" schemes and I understand that these are only unfounded rumors at this point; it points to desperation on their part to meet the competition. intEL has made some very strong commitments to keep delL and gatEWAY under control and in the fold. If they can meet these commitments only by such means, the ultimate implications are profound.
