Last year, the Colts were turning the game in Candlestick into a rout just before halftime, then the refs made a couple of bizarre calls to let the 'Niners back in. This led to another bizarre call at the beginning of the second half. By then the Colts were broken.

I thought then though that at some point in the near future, the 49ers would run into another young, talented team, and wouldn't have the benefits of the refs. I've been thinking this secondary should be burned big time for quite awhile now, and today it finally was.

It's amazing that this Warner character says that plays in the NFL "develop slowly." Maybe other NFL teams will start using the arena leagues as training for the quick release.

No offense to the 49ers; they've got (had?) a great organization and Walsh has influenced the game immensely. It's just great to see the Rams get the win and gloat a bit. <g> People should pay attention when a qb has such an easy time in a blitz-happy league where many of the other qbs are having difficulty completing passes, let alone bombs; especially now that they have trounced an "elite NFL team."

Prediction: Without some kind of turnaround, the 'Niners don't finish any better than 4-4 in the division this year.
As for the refs, I'm complaining a bit less after a couple of possible "homer" calls in favor of the Seahawks at home last week.... "ticky-tack" pass interference calls on Allen from what I hear.

I guess Denver's not going away. They lost Sharpe though. Even with just Smith and McCaffery, they're dangerous... the qb just has to get them the ball. Who is Denver's 2nd TE?

With the KC win over NE, the AFC West looks to be gaining a bit of respect again.

It looks more and more like the Seahawks will have to beat each opponent. I predict a win a San Diego, and 100 yards for Watters. SD hasn't given up 100 yards to a rusher in something like 26 straight games.

Prediction:
Watters: 101 yards on 24 carries
Brown: 49 yards on 7 carries

They were supposed to be working on their running game in the off week, right? <g>

FWIW
