>>WELCOME TO G&K NEWCOMERS!

Thanks for the welcome, Unq. While I am a stranger to the thread (I have only recently come out of 'lurk' mode), the thread is no stranger to me. I wandered in here when the posts were in the double digits, which was around the same time I opened up my E*TRADE account. Shortly thereafter, I bought and read the FM, and I have been a loyal lurker ever since.

>>Warning: this thread can be addictive.

I can personally attest to this. I feel it is a badge of honor to be able to say I have read every post on this thread since day one, and surely this fact should allow me charter membership in the G&K support group. <g>

I'm not sure whether my stumbling in here was an act of providence or coincidence. But whatever the case, my portfolio has seen returns that my former <g> broker would not have thought possible. And I have the fine contributors here to thank, and specifically you, for fostering an environment which represents a new paradigm in education. Each member is part teacher, part student (in my case, much more of the latter), bringing his/her own experiences and opinions to the (round?) table. So everyone feels both the satisfaction of getting smarter and the warm fuzzies that come from helping others. And the financial rewards are the icing on the cake.

So, it is with a sense of responsibility that I feel I should try to 'give something back' to the thread. And it is with a sense of 'knowing my own limitations' that I will make every effort not to increase the amount of static here.

thanks again...rick
