Jesus answered a question with a question and then refused to answer those you asked the original question in Mark 11:28 When the religious rulers of the day asked " By what authority doest thou these things ? and who gave thee this authority to do these things ? " And what follows... RE>> Is it considered proper to answer a direct question with a direct answer, in a debate environment?<< I see no reason why it would be improper to either answer directly or to pose another question that would be directly relevant to the original question... Did you have a question ??? I may have missed it .
