Why Not ??? Did you not read what they did when Moses went up on the mountain to be with God. They cast all there gold into a huge statue of a calf.. It is presumed it may have been the same one as you see dug up by Archeologist the one with the female calf with the whole underside being one huge long utter. The Jews had completely forgotten God... They wanted to go back when things got tough. God had to kill all of them in the dessert and only allow their children to go into the land Except the TWO !!! The Jews were slaves and I believe they would have been responsible for building what stood in Egypt after 400 years of building. They also worshipped those Idols. They forgot God but God did not forget "HIS ELECT" and "HIS PROMISES "
