CC, I don't know you, so I'll just speak about my experience. I've been flat-broke and I've had more money than I ever dreamed of having. But, you know what? I was the same person inside.

I found myself sitting in my expensive house, wearing my expensive clothes, driving my expensive car, etc., but inside was an emptiness that I couldn't pay enough to get rid of.

When I hear people say, "If I won the lottery I'd be happy for the rest of my life". I don't say anything to them, but I know that having "Stuff" doesn't make you fulfilled and really happy.

More comfortable, yes. But that's all. If you were miserable poor, you're going to be miserable rich.
It was only when I let the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart, that I was really happy and fulfilled.

Nothing compares to the promise I have in Him.

He also gave me a sound mind, and common sense, to handle my financial matters.

Concerning your statement below,

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth."

Let me ask you this, would you be happier in a house valued at $600,000. or a house valued at $500,000.?

If you still can't see the point I'm trying to make, have the undertaker put plenty of pockets in your coffin, so you can take it all with you. But, OTOH where are you going, that you will need money when you're dead?
