<< But, then, if believers REALLY believe, how can we expect them not to want to "save" the others? >>

Well, I REALLY believe in evolution, so if was soccer coach, for instance, would that mean that it wouldn't bother you if you found out that I would take 15 minutes out of soccer practice to share my beliefs with your child without your knowledge or approval? Or how about if that soccer coach was a devout Muslim, and was teaching your child about Islam at soccer practice?

It seems that in Texas lately a lot of the football coaches are making their players "volunteer" to kneel down in a circle in the middle of the field before the game for a prayer. There is 100% participation by the players. I suspect very strongly that if a player didn't "volunteer" to pray, he would be off of the team. It sure looks like, in Texas at least, football coaches need to be Christian evangelists, or they are not hired.

I don't trust Muslims any more than I trust Christians.

The problem with Islam is that it is still a relatively young religion; when Christianity was the age that Islam is now, it behaved in much the same way.

I hope the Islamic countries eventually see a resurgence of reason over faith. We should certainly do everything possible to promote this. Subsidizing education would help a lot. Even a strict religious education bounces back against faith. When people learn to think and to question, religion cannot dominate.
