TD, It is my statement. On this thread I'm only putting in quotes what I have taken directly from the Hebrew Scriptures or the New Testament. I do not put in quotes what I paraphrase, however, so I will try in the future to be careful not to paraphrase the scriptures. However, that may be difficult since ". . . there is no new thing under the sun." Forgive me if I err. First, I must confess that I painted with a pretty broad brush with that statement. I would probably have done better to write that no one who knows the Bible well and professes to be a believer of what is written therin would ever purposefully bring a child into the world. I'm not referring here to, "It is good for a man not to touch a woman.", or "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.", although there are arguments there and elsewhere. I'm basing my statement upon scriptures such as: "For many are called, but few are chosen.", and "Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." FEW are chosen, the chosen few. MANY will seek to enter in and SHALL NOT BE ABLE. We have it there on good authority that MOST are going to Hell. That's how I reach my conclusion that anyone who is a Christian, and is well versed, and believes those verses knows that having children is a tragedy because MOST OF THOSE CHILDREN ARE GOING TO HELL. CC
