Hi wily; Re memory type used by the new ATI graphics card. A clue is in the words: "Technology uses dual RAGE 128 Pro? Processors and 64 MB of memory to deliver 500 Megapixels/second."

Here is a link to an ATI board that uses the RAGE 128 Pro chip set:

The above link has a picture. You can clearly identify the memory as four 2Mx32 SGRAMs, and so SGRAM is what is undoubtedly used in the new board. Of course it's hard to be sure without a picture...

Probably the simplest thing is to check the Rambus web site to see if there is a press release announcing a design win. If not, this is pretty likely to be SGRAM.

I'm thinking about setting myself up with a hot Athlon game playing platform (early next year), so I've been thinking about what kind of graphics card to put in it.
