$2B was spent on the evacuation alone! Now that the storm is gone a lot of people feel upset, but not by the storm but the computer models. Floyd WAS the hurricane of the century in terms of $$ damage because of all the flooding, not the typical wind or storm surge damage normally associated with hurricanes. In hindsight, the modeling hit the nail on the head by showing us the sheer size and ferocity of this monster. Stop to think about it - a system large enough to cause synchronous downpours from FL to MA!!
