TeraBridge Technologies' PathMinder Software
Suite Gains SS7 Certification From ILLUMINET

PathMinder to Deliver Certified SS7 Signaling Over an
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Switch

GURNEE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999-- TeraBridge Technologies Corp., leading developer of call and
connection control software for broadband networks, today announced its PathMinder(TM) software suite has been
certified by ILLUMINET for SS7 MTP levels one, two and three. This development effectively verifies the software as a
compatible solution for physical, link and network signaling requirements. As a compliant software solution for
ILLUMINET's SS7 service offerings, PathMinder enables customers such as Competitive Local Exchange Carriers
(CLEC), Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILEC) and Internet Service Providers (ISP) to allocate their services in
multi-vendor environments.

``This certification qualifies PathMinder's ability to communicate with any SS7 link, and thus, proves our product can
function in a multi-vendor environment,' said Gary Brown, president of TeraBridge Technologies. ``Network service
providers can now be assured that PathMinder is fully compatible with ILLUMINET's SS7 signaling technology, a
development that enables TeraBridge to further advance its software-based switching technology over a virtual pathway.'

``PathMinder fared well in our labs after we put it through rigorous testing,' said Mary Schares, ILLUMNINET's Manager
of Network Provisioning. ``TeraBridge has done a very good job in getting this product up to speed and making sure its
linking protocol is compatible with our standards.'

PathMinder merges traditional narrowband call control with evolving voice and data protocols (such as SS7, Q.2931, IP,
and ISDN) to deliver and manage integrated communications over a broadband network. As a complete software solution,
PathMinder provides an economic alternative to the hardware dependencies of today's legacy infrastructures, offering the
features of a facilities-based network on a virtual basis. PathMinder runs in parallel with any transport network, and is
compatible with any switch or access device for last-mile connectivity, protocol interworking, translation, and aggregation.
This open architecture, agnostic approach makes PathMinder uniquely future-proof, and helps solve a major unbundling
issue necessary to comply with the FCC's 14-point checklist for opening up the U.S. local loop between incumbent and
competitive carriers.
