I have been finding most anlysts reports disappointing. Many will downgrade only well after it obvious that there is bad news and well after it seems that everyone else knows. I do not give as much credence to analysts recommendations but try to pinpoint those analyst that truly do their homework and have demonstrated they have been ahead of the curve. They are hard to find. Without analyst reports what else do we have to judge buy and how do we know wether the report is self serving? Perhaps sometimes its not the company that has failed but the analysts and their projections. I have held a stock of a company that had great earnings but were a penny shy of analysts expectations thus the share price was punished yet maybe the anlysts should have been the ones punished. I wish I had a better approach for evaluating a companys prospects.
