This is the most misleading map of them all. This talks about the areas that will be covered by a gateway and not those that are authorized to offer service or with a service provider. For example, Thailand, all of Myanmar, parts of Pakistan and parts of Northern India etc are shown to have coverage. But that is totally misleading because there is no SP.

What I want to see is a list of countries that will offer service by year 2000 and also what percentage of the plan they comprise.

You'll remember that they had an SP all set up, but financial problems, followed by legal ones, have tied that up for the time being. This was really beyond G*'s control, and unfortunately probably will be slow to resolve.

These kinds of issues are to be expected in this kind of effort. The "slow rollout" model (if we agree that it is valid, which many don't) avoids the issue for awhile. In any case, I think there is enough market out there to make India unnecessary for the time being.

We'll see.
