Jeff,

The laser itself does not produce the scar. The area where the flap was cut from is what scars.

The flap is cut in the peripheral cornea. If proper patient selection is used (pupil size) the patient will experience minimal if any glare ( it has been described to me as: " I have always seen glare, it's now no worse or better than before).

Also, I don't think either procedure is the panacea. What other medical procedures do we do with the thought of "fine tuning or reversing" in mind from the onset. Most procedures we do with the intention of a permanent cure.

The future will change for both procedures.
