I'll do my best. Sorry if my comments sound like I am a little biased. I admit that I do not have the extensive understanding of the global PC business that you may have. I still think that many of 'the experts' are underestimating how difficult it will be for Compaq to regain momentum. They have lost some credibility with many stakeholders (eg. the analysts, Fund Managers, individual investors, and even some of the customers). I expect that DELL will continue to profitably take market share (and mind share) from CPQ and some of the others in the hardware business.

I hope your are right in your optimism on Compaq. You have good reason to hold that opinion. However, I seem to recall you making the same Dell vs. Compaq appraisal about a year ago. Time will tell.
