Living La Vida Loca, Part I

"You are living my life." Her comment stopped me cold, brought me up short, halted me in my tracks and gave me pause to think.

Her life as she sees it? Her life as I see it? Her life as she hopes it would be?

I had wondered for a long time whose life I was living. Knowing wasn't helping. Much.

Now. Who the hell is living my life???

I got out of line. I was no longer in the mood for fast food.

Neenny, my midnight confession was to the love of my life in high school. At my 10th, back in '89, I saw the love of my middle school years. After introducing me to his fiancee, I congratulated her and told her that I still had my seventh grade diary, in which I had vowed to marry him. They both looked at me aghast, as if I intended to carry out the threat! Fortunately, I actually had married a man with a sense of humor.

Dang, I could've turned that anecdote into an SS50! As I process the weekend, I'll write more.

For Neenny:

PANDORA'S BOX

Had she known what she would find, she might have never gotten the mail. Her letter to him had been frank and fanciful. But the 20-year-old emotions it unleashed in him were startling, unsettling even. Is this what she wanted? Pocketing the letter, she handed the usual junkmail to Larry.
