re. why 300 points:
My assumption is that volatility will increase gradually - July to August, 100-150 point ranges. Last (September) pullback on 200+ point swings. Now, for the next step I expect bigger swings, i.e. 300+. For a starter, on Wednesday it will be down as by then the VIX will be ridiculously low setting-up for a nice sell-off. Fundamentally, we should have a few "not so great" earnings reports by then. All JMO. Then again, I am trying to extrapolate my chess game skills (which is nothing much) to the stock market. -g-
