Woops, it's still 1M subs by year end 2000 according to Bloomberg:

quote.bloomberg.com

However a companion piece quotes Qualcomm as saying 600K.

Bloomberg goes on to quote BLS as saying 2002 business plan projections as "3 million subscribers by the end of 2002, generating
revenue of between $2.8 billion and $3.1 billion, with earnings before interest payment, tax and
depreciation costs of $2.1 billion."

Note: the EBITDA that corresponds to 2.8B in Revs better be a helluva lot higher than 2.1B$. I'd have expected EBITDA around 2.6, with net earnings around 2-2.1.

To All,
Got a call from Maurice last night, midnight NZ time, I was asleep and was stirred into conciousness by the sound of the ringing phone.
I picked up the phone and mumbled a Gidday, I was still asleep, even though I felt awake.
On the other end of the line was this very wide awake voice and very loud voice and very very clear voice, like he was on the phone in the room next to my bedroom, talking directly into my ear on a line directly into my ear.
It was an excited voice also, he was calling from Geneva, on a fixed Globalstar phone at the Globalstar display tent.
He had only been at the show for a few minutes and was busting to make a call on the G phone, so not a lot else to report at this stage other than the fact that Maurice was very bullish about G prospects.

Go GG

JA

Thanks John. Bigger than the regular cell phones, but not too bad. A friend gave me the impression that it was very bulky.

Cheers,
