I assume that you have a lot of mushrooms because you have forests, maybe pine forests? I have a book on poisonous plants I checked out from the library to ID plants in my yards, we might have poison ivy. I'd never pick a plant to eat from a guidebook, but I'd definitely rely on one for plants to avoid. OTOH, the pictures of poison ivy are so non-descript, I still don't know if we've got it. But if you're wondering, I got my rash before I went walking around in the back yard.
