<< Do you yearn for an America in which God is allowed and
honored outside of our churches and synagogues, or do you
want an America in which lip service is paid to him, so long as
he is kept out of the real world? >>

Your question assumes that I agree there is a god, which I do not. The public schools have no business promoting contrived religious beliefs. It should be teaching known facts, such as about the fossil evidence that certainly does exist.

I don't see that as "the real question" at all. The religious are perfectly free to base their actions on their beliefs, anywhere they choose. They are not free to impose their beliefs and rituals on those who do not wish to share them.

What could be simpler?

"The real question" with religious freedom arises with religions like Christianity and Islam, which instruct their members to violate the religious freedom of others as part of their own religious practice. I personally believe that the right to practice ones religion ends when it intrudes on the freedom of another.

The question of how God should be honored seems less than imperative to those who do not believe in God.
