Mulla, I have experienced this myself. From time to time Etrade will sell or borrow shares shares out of my account. I don't have a margin account so this is illegal. So I call them up and complain and they give me some line of bull about it being some recent new rule. All I do is enter a GTC order and within a few days the shares are returned. This only seems to happen to listed shares, have never seen it with OTC stocks.
