To testify to the truth of God. I have nothing against personal testimony but it is not the tool of evangelism some would have us believe. Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. You likely know this but all these word have the same root. Testament ( as in last will and testament ) Testate Testimony Testator Testify The New Testament is the Will of Christ and inheritance of the saints :-}
