I believe the Bible teaches that Men are saved by Faith. How does faith come to men ??? By hearing me tell them what a loser I was until I met the Lord and now my life is just so peachy ??? My life is not peachy. I still have problems. I still sin. No men are save by faith in God's Word. I believe that if someone comes to church and listened to 4 hours of personal testimony it would have very little effect compared to hearing 20 minutes of God's word. You and I agree that unless God's spirit grants them hearing ears neither mean anything but look: Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. I have watched TV Evangelists or preacher so called that could go through an whole hour without 1 bit of God's word being spoken. What did Jesus do with Satan ??? God quoted His own word to the devil as authoritative ! What do these false teachers on TV do... Well there is always lots and lots of entertaining music and songs but not the Psalms that God wrote no no nice gushy good feeling songs that men wrote about how the feel and what the think. " We know that Christ our saviour was born on Christmas day.. " You know stuff that isn't even true half the time. Then they have some guest speaker who has just written a new book or made a new movie that you can BUY.... You know make a few bucks MONEY CHANGER TYPES.... They usually throw in some "Personal Testimonies" You know a little something to bring a few tears to the eyes. Hey I was a druggy and a prostitute and a whatever... The worse I was the better. It is always good if they break down crying as well... They pass around a plate to get money for a retreat for tired pastors.. They play a little "MOOD MUSIC" to make the giving a little easier... before you know it they did the whole hour without having to let the Word of God be spoken at all.... Or if it was it was completely out of context.. But don't worry they tell you " GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART " If the people were sincere then that is all that God cares about. Let me tell you... If God is looking at the heart they are done :-} Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
