RT..LEADING-EDGE TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIERS APPLAUD THE ARRIVAL OF
ORACLE(R) PORTAL-TO-GO CEGETEL, E-PLUS, LIBERTEL AND TELIA MOBILE
Empowered to Quickly Deliver Unlimited Content and E-Services to All
Wireless Devices

GENEVA, TELECOM'99, Oct 12, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Oracle
Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL), the number one choice for e-business, today
announced that some of the world's most innovative wireless carriers
are testing Oracle(R) Portal-to-Go to manage, customize and deliver
Internet content and e-services to any wireless device, including
mobile phones, handheld organizers, pagers and wireless appliances.
Oracle Portal-to-Go, announced today at Telecom'99, enables carriers to
rapidly provide virtually any Internet content or transaction -- such
as maps and directions, CNN, stock trading, e-travel and leading portal
content like Yahoo! -- to their wireless subscribers.

Oracle Portal-to-Go will extend the real-time benefits of e-business
into the growing mobile workforce. There are approximately 300 million
wireless phones in the world, more than three times the number of
Internet-enabled PCs. Now wireless carriers will be able to provide
e-business capabilities to a new wireless user community that is three
times larger than that of today's Internet.

"Ubiquitous access to meaningful information is a major feature of the
new paradigm of computing which IDC calls CyberSmart Computing," said
Carl Olofson, a Research Director at IDC. "Oracle Portal-to-Go not only
significantly delivers on this feature, but could well represent the
standard technology by which a virtually limitless range of devices and
form factors may be used to access same content."

At Telecom'99 today, leading telecom carriers, including Telia,
showcased new e-services built on Oracle Portal-to-Go including mobile
e-travel, mobile real-time auctions, mobile stock trading, mobile
banking, mobile messaging and mobile contact management.

"Cegetel is excited about the trial they are building with Oracle
Portal-to-Go," said Alexis Pham, marketing manager at Cegetel, a French
carrier that already offers mobile Internet services. "Oracle
Portal-to-Go will play an important role in extending localized and
customized e-services."

E-Plus, the German carrier known for providing leading edge wireless
services, is excited about the promise that Oracle Portal-to-Go will
offer their customers a more valuable mobile experience. Klaus
Thiemann, CEO of E-Plus, commented that Oracle Portal-to-Go could play
an important role in extending all of the rich content of the Internet
to wireless devices. He stated, "The possibility to utilize already
existing Internet services is the key to the mass market."

"With Libertel's strategy to be a leading provider of mobile
information and transactional services, Oracle Portal-to-Go is a
perfect enhancement of our advanced network service framework," said
Stephan Rasche, Libertel Director of Business Development at Libertel
in the Netherlands. "Participating in the beta program demonstrates our
commitment to the mobile multi-media market."

"Oracle Portal-to-Go is designed with the wireless carrier in mind,
removing the limitations, to bringing dynamic Web content to mobile
devices," said Lars Persson, executive vice president, Telia Mobile.
"Oracle Portal-to-Go eliminates the need for re-coding each Web page
for each type of mobile device, allowing us to focus on service
differentiation, brand creation and the delivery of personalized Web
content to mobile users."

The Swedish wireless carrier, Telia, recently announced plans to merge
with neighboring Telenor in Norway to become one of Europe's leading
wireless, satellite and Internet carriers, with more than 6 million
individuals and companies as customers. Telia worked closely with
Oracle on Oracle Portal-to-Go from prototype creation to production.
Its wireless portal service, called My Department of the Future
(MyDOF), provides services from companies such as ForeningsSparbanken,
Sandrew Metronome movie theaters, the Swedish postal service and
railroad, CNN and Nordnet online stock trading.
