Q. Why do you believe there is gold in northeastern Alberta?

A. "Scanning electron microscope and standard fire assay analyses have conclusively demonstrated the presence of anomalous quantities of gold and other precious and base metals in rocks in the Athabasca region of northeastern Alberta. To explain the transport and deposition of gold and precious metals in Athabasca, Birch Mountain, together with the GSC, developed the Prairie Gold model. With the fire assay results announced in April 1997, we have become increasingly confident in the area's potential."

Q. How significant are your fire assay results?

A. "First of all, it didn't happen overnight. Prior to April of 1997, we could demonstrate the presence of gold, but it took two years of work using various methods including fire assay, cyanide leach and flotation concentration at several laboratories before we were able to see repeatable determinations of gold content," says Doug Halbe, Metallurgical Consultant.

"And platinum was a bit of a surprise," adds Bob Lipsett, "although we're certainly pleased that it's there given that it's in high demand. The results - up to 4.94 grams of platinum and 0.21 grams of gold per tonne - are encouraging, but we will need to find the deposit before we can determine just how significant these results are."

Birch Mountain's Chairman, Dr. Richard Garnett, elaborates on the Company's recent news: "Our results are solid. We have three fire assays with similar results from Bondar Clegg and Activation Laboratories, two extremely reputable firms. They obtained the samples independent of Birch Mountain. Birch Mountain has been, and will continue to be, very cautious about releasing results of analytical or extraction analyses."

Q. Do you think the Athabasca region has economic potential?

A."Yes, unequivocally," according to Dr. Hugh Abercrombie, Manager, Exploration. "The conditions leading to the formation of the three-trillion tonne Athabasca oil sands deposit also appear to control the flow of gold-bearing brines. Microdisseminated, sediment-hosted gold deposits, such as Carlin in Nevada, typically form over a few hundred thousand years to a million years. In contrast, mineral deposition in northeastern Alberta occurred over a much longer period, perhaps tens to hundreds of millions of years. This, and other factors, lead us to conclude that there is tremendous potential for the formation of large-tonnage deposits in Alberta that could rival some of the largest gold deposits in the world."

Q. Where and how do you expect to find an economic gold deposit?

A. Dr. Jon Thorson, Exploration Advisor, responds: "In our exploration program, we are using geology, geophysics and geochemistry to correlate Prairie Gold mineralizing processes with the structural, stratigraphic, hydrogeological and geochemical elements that are essential to the formation of an ore deposit. The Prairie Gold model tells us that an ore deposit in Athabasca will be found in a large volume of fractured limestone containing gold, silver and other precious and base metals. Evidence from other sediment-hosted gold deposits further suggests that an ore deposit will be found where structural and stratigraphic conditions enabled brines to flow into areas that had the ability to capture metals."

Q. Where else would the Prairie Gold model apply?

A. "The first area is Dawson Bay in Manitoba, where Birch Mountain has acquired a Special Exploration Permit covering 15,073 hectares. New occurrences of microdisseminated gold and polymetallic minerals were discovered here in 1996 by the GSC and Manitoba Energy and Mines," says Hugh Abercrombie. "We believe we can recognize and identify occurrences of this mineralization elsewhere in the WCSB and in other basins around the world that show geological, geochemical, structural and hydrogeological features similar to Athabasca and Dawson Bay." He also adds that "Birch Mountain has initiated a program to review and prioritize regions in and outside of North America that have the potential to host other Prairie Gold deposits."

I noticed that Hugh Abercrombie used a derrivative of the WORD that was in the last Titanium New Relaese HERE, Sideritization ( text below-some compare with NBL:VSE News Release?!)( carbonate material of iron as per my Penguin at bottom referance), in his one Page Carlin/Coretez Trends comparisons with Alberta:

Thre Dirt is that they didn't let it snow, they didn't paint white and they just re-iterated what was on their PGM website pages. I can see the roadsigns thru the whiteout. Can't all of you? BTW, I asked them if this was called a Breakthru or a Quantum Step:
NEW BLUE RIBBON ( NBBRF:BB ) and TINTINA ( TNNTF:BB ) are near here:( BMD is BHMNF : BB )

Chucka( Walker Yogie- HEY - Hey - Hey...Griz is smarter than the average BEAR! ) LOL - Jelly Stone Park is full of PLATINUM and an Eagle Nest just maybe...I wonder!???? ???? ???? ? NOTE: that link MAP of Fort McKay is NOT the Oil Sands MAIN ( but is anyways) area of Athabasca due EAST many miles called Fort Mac Murray. So don't confuse them...THIS LINK shows that the Birch Moutain Block of claims as we all had seen it called ( Eagles Nest we stated as being THERE! Ft McKay)...is now a PT area...at the New York Meeting there were Fort McMurray PODS they call it of a few Kilometers each in length of PT areas THAT I drew...I willscan my drawing...like in a week, LOL! Maybe better not! Griz is a staker...so am I! LOL ROF.
This is great....and this little bear went wee wee wee all the way home! What a visit..I love NEW YORK..///see BM thread for the one page HUGH ABERCROMBIE REPORT: HERE are the map og NV link he comparred and contrasted Alberta with the Ccarlin/Cortez Trends:
<<..""Preltminaiy geochemical indications of alteration which we recognized over a year ago have now been extended such that we can recognize characteiistlc alteration types including decarbonation, desulfidation, sideritlzation, haritization and, locally, silicificatlon In areas of structural disturbance directly overlying basement faults. We can now show that the ore grade' platinum and gold from Syncnade drill hole AE/l1-7-96-10W4 (2.2-5 g/Tplatmuxn and 0.2 g/Tgold over a 1.6 rn interval from 72.0-73.6 in depth) occurs within cbaractexistically altered Devonian limestone within 1 kilometre of a basement structure which coincides with an ~alteration fairway' at the top of the Devonian.

Tinanium news out on the CSW Forume at Canada-stockwatch.com GAR company that is comparred to NBL over there so since the news just came out after it was compared OVER AT CSW, i post it here...I think we see a comparison and we are in NBL at a Double-dimeish average now:
NOT a FEW BUCKS like this company : ( They went down a buck because it says below that they have UNACCEPTABLE amounts of CHROMIUM ( I have some ideas on Chromium that NEWTECH resins and Seperation Extraction Methods may help solve ...but we don't have to worry about that yeyt here! At NBL....we just need the SURVEY in the future, we are in differant geology) ( I will post the Old Exploration NR below at BOTTOM to show how they were looking for 10% Tintanium / I Element & below here FIRST and Latest says they got it BUT...maybe we will hit the right NBL combo- we sure are not DEPENDANT on ONE PLAY as this POOR COLORADO Company RAD is: )
Radar Acquisitions Corp -
Radar Acquisitions completes drilling near Limon
Radar Acquisitions Corp RAC
Shares issued 8,301,143 1999-10-26 close $2.89
Tuesday Oct 26 1999

Mr. John Bergen reports
Radar Acquisitions has completed its first drilling/exploration program on properties, near Limon , Colo., leased with its joint venture partner River Bend Exploration. This drilling/exploration program consisted of air and ground magnetometer surveys as well as fence drilling conducted by TS2 Consulting, to determine the Ilmenite (titanium), garnet and zircon content of the property.
The joint venture has now received a preliminary report from Watts, Griffis and McOuat, consulting geologists and engineers, of Toronto, Ont. This report is concerned only with 3.6 miles of the first trend and does not include the potential of the 800 square miles (approximate) previously announced.
In its report commenting on the mineral distribution, Watts, Griffis and McOuat comment as follows:
Riverbend has completed 79 drill holes along lines across the main trend, the titanium ridge trend and possible extensions to the north. An estimate of total tons and grade of mineralized sand in 3.6 miles of the main trend has been completed. Using a cross-section area estimation method, WGM (Watts, Griffis and McOuat) estimates total resources as follows:
Measured -- 9.3 million tons, 7.1-per-cent total heavy minerals, 8.6 million cubic yards overburden;
Indicated -- 9.1 million tons, 14.2-per-cent total heavy minerals, 11.5 million cubic yards overburden; and
Inferred -- 4.3 million tons, 10.5-per-cent total heavy minerals, 3.3 million cubic yards overburden.
These figures would indicate total heavy minerals as follows:
Measured -- 660,300 tons total heavy minerals;
Indicated -- 1,292,200 tons total heavy minerals; and
Inferred -- 451,500 tons total heavy minerals.
Further in the report, Watts, Griffis and McOuat, state the following:
Preliminary process testing on the bulk sample has been completed and alternative processes are being considered. Bench scale testing suggested that marketable ilmenite, zircon and garnet concentrates could be produced using wet gravity, high-intensity electrostatic and induced magnetic separation methods. Analyses of mineral separates indicated that the heavy mineral concentrates from wet gravity separation contained 28 per cent to 31 per cent ilmenite, 35 per cent to 37 per cent garnet and 6 per cent to 7 per cent zircon. The rough ilmenite concentrate contained unacceptably high amounts of chromium and the zircon contained high amounts of uranium and thorium. Bench scale treatment was able to reduce the chromium content of the ilmenite to less than 0.2 per cent and the uranium and thorium content of the zircon to less than 300 parts per million. The garnet concentrate is of a size and composition to be readily marketable to the growing water jet cutting industry.
Further process testing on the bulk sample will be required to produce the same results as indicated in the Watts, Griffis and McOuat report and to find the most economical means of separating the heavy minerals before a flow sheet can be produced for a mining operation.
With the results of this report Radar will continue with a large scale drilling program to further assess its Colorado resource base.
