Follow-up and update (1999) version of my legendary (in my own mind) post on Sept 9, 1998 (#reply-5705698)! ------------------ The anatomy of coming gut-wrenching decline. 1. How will it feel like? No trigger is needed, all the ingredients for the potion are in place. Dollar, inflation concerns, Y2K, Rising gold and falling bonds. 2. How it will be felt? Awful for the people who have been successfully buying the dips in the last few years. The were surprised after they bought at 5-7% decline. They were succesfully rewarded at the two recent 10% declines. Not for the 3rd one. 3. We are now in the shake the confidence phase: The strong hands now are the least informed or the assholes who think that Fed is there to protect them for ever! These are people who 'conservatively' expect QCOM to appreciate 10% per day and S&P 25% every six months! A lot of smart money has left the scene. Weak hands have already been shaken out - especially the shorts. The object of the game from now on is to destroy the stronger hands. This is how it (the panic phase) is designed to be. And I think this is how it will be. You can quote me on that. -g- 4. Panic phase - coming to the markets near you (thank you Def, soon - very soon!)
