Tuesday, October 12, 1999 Shanghai carrier switches to Cabletron Shanghai Jinshan Telecom has selected network communications provider Cabletron's SmartSwitch Router solutions to upgrade its current switch and hub network. The new, integrated solution will provide users with intranet, extranet and Internet access simultaneously. In addition, Shanghai JianShan Telecom has installed Cabletron's Spectrum management system - for systems and application control capabilities for both enterprises and services providers. Located in Shanghai City, JinShan Telecom plans to establish an elementary-scale, regional multimedia communication network systems to provide multi-application services simultaneously, such as inter-office connectivity, Internet connection, VPNs, extranets, e-commerce, VoIP and video conferencing.
