I think the real answer here is to be lead by the Spirit when witnessing. The Spirit might lead you to share a scripture or a personal testimony, whichever would be right for the situation. I always find a prayer that God would speak through me before I share with someone helps, especially with nerves.

I will agree with you. Even personal testimony needs to be wrapped in God Word. Without the word it is just a story, with it, it is TESTIMONY!
