I signed up for 2 free weeks of Off Shore Data. Looks like the BOOM is starting: there is even work for shallow jacks and that FGI dog.

2. UK/CANADA: Friede Goldman signed a letter of commitment with R&B Falcon for upgrades/modifications on semi
HENRY GOODRICH. Work, which will be done at Friede Goldman's Marystown, Newfoundland, facility, will prepare the rig for its development drilling contract in the Terra Nova field. The rig, which currently is in the North Sea, is slated to begin drilling on the Terra Nova field in February 2000.

4. U.S. GULF: Comstock Resources plans to drill a well in South Pelto Block 1 in 30-foot waters. The well will be drilled by
a jackup.

5. U.S. GULF: Panaco Inc. plans to drill a well in East Cameron Block 4 in 15-foot waters. The well will be drilled by a jackup.

7. U.S. GULF: R&B Falcon jackup FALRIG 20 is expected to begin a two-workover plus one-option contract with Sonat GOM.

. NORWAY: The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reports that recent mapping and seismic interpretation on Barents Sea prospects indicates potential hydrocarbon resources could be significantly larger than first thought. Estimates for undiscovered resources in the area have been increased from 825 million scm to 986 million scm. The NPD hopes that final mapping of several prospects will prompt new exploration wells next year. No drilling has taken place in the area for almost six years.
