Check with your broker on how to buy Canadian stocks from the US. You should try to stick to TSE listed stocks for now because the VSE and ASE are a little too crazy for foreigners . . . heck they're too crazy for us.

For foreigners I must stress always use limit orders. Never place a market order . . . you will definitely end up paying too much.

A few stocks that you can buy on the US exchanges that can still make good moves up are DROOY, TVX, and KGC (Kinross).

If you want to follow my trades in realtime Jon, I can usually be found at the following thread. We all post our trades in realtime over there both buys and sells.

Subject 28652

Also when we make a comment on a stock we state whether or not we currently hold a position in the stock so people will know if we have a bias or not and can decide whether they think we're right or full of crap. It makes a big difference to know an individual poster's current position in a stock when they post their comment. Also it keeps us honest.

Here'e some lingo we use regularly over there . . .

PHPI = poster has personal interest (poster has a position in the stock, it can be long or short but most of us are longs)

PHNPI = poster has no personal interest (poster currently does not hold a position in the stock)

Another thing we like to keep things professional and friendly so we don't take crap from any posters . . . not even the ones we really really like . . . not even the gurus . . . actually we don't have gurus . . . just regular people sharing ideas. We have alot of sharp cookies over there.

Lola:)
