Mani, maybe I've overstretched things a little on the 0.13 micron. I definitely expect Dresden to be running smoothly, later than AMD fans expect.

However I won't be surprised if Intel comes up with a hybrid 0.13 process next year i.e 0.13 micron gates but with the 0.18 micron lithography on other layers. AMD has done something similar with their 0.25 micron process already. The shorter gate length has a dramatic improvement in speed.[It will also need a few other process changes like new implant profiles and thinner oxides etc.]

I definitely expect Intel Coppermine to stay ahead of Athlon or be reasonably close until Willamette goes into manufacturing.

I would guess second half 2001 at the earliest.
