It's the deal discount, it will stay that way until the deal closes. Suppose it gets repriced, or the deal gets delayed or canceled, VNTV will head to the $5 range. Very Risky. Now PSFT is faced with even more internal execution issues including converting Vantive to its Pet tools (er uh people tools?) architecture. Too bad PSFT's results were so crummy, PSFT is a great short from an execution issue. If it were me, I'd take the overvaluation of a dying company and run like mad. TD
