John7:1 ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Nancy can you tell me how this verse would be viewed in light of the following verse which appears only 5 verses later ??

John7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

How are we to know who the Dogs or swine are without some kind of Judgement !

I agree, I don't use scaring people as a method of evangelism, but if someone asks a question about hell I am frank, because Jesus was, he never ignored hell, and didn't avoid the issue of damnation.

I agree, it is not out place to condemn, I think this verse tells us not to judge others, and it's not out job to decide who will be sent to hell, as a Christian it is so easy to condemn people in out minds, like prostitutes, or serial murderers, Jesus never did this, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" and neither should we.
