Frank - ** OT **
I don't mean to trivialize the really innovative technology. But there are others who have done great work in the field but happened to miss the "sweet spot" of where the business went and have neat stuff with no market.

Great technology is the Ante in the game, not the winning hand. Those without a technology base like Q has developed don't even have a boat, so it doesn't matter where they are in the stream...

Looking back, Q would obviously have been a great investment. But the whole of that business is in rapid change, with very large players caught short - players with billions at stake, deep pockets, and tremendous R&D capability. I have not managed to sort out the various underlying currents to the point where I am really comfortable with likely outcomes, so I'm just not getting much feedback from my "gut".

Nothing against Q and I'm not betting against them either - they have a huge opportunity. I appreciate what you say about the success they have had thus far. I will continue to develop my understanding of that important market. I didn't buy MSFT until 1989 either but still it has been an OK investment for me <g> so I don't think I need to get in on day one.
