Hello, disk drive company experts.

Obviously, WDC is getting its butt kicked, stock and profit-wise. Anyone care to give a short, medium, and long-term (serious) outlook for the company?

Thanks.

Mark,
I haven't listened to the call yet, but they are off of such a small base that I don't think their report of a somewhat stronger backlog is terribly significant. On the other hand, their market value already reflects a lot of pessimism, and, if they do indeed survive over the next year, the stock may be a good investment from here, at least as a trading vehicle.

I want to listen to the call before making any more comments. I will be especially interested to hear the tone of their comments on M2. But of course, the proof is only in the pudding not in how the chef reviews his own meal; if both they and DSS meet their scheduled ship dates, SDLT will be about 2-3 months behind M2.

I still haven't seen anything on LTO save rumors that IBM will allegedly ship their boxes at about the same time as SDLT.

Here we are in earnings season and the SI threads remain dead compared to the old days. Wonder if they're going to change their policies and let in som enew blood (hopefully with some constraints) or just fade away. Pretty sad to see it go.
