Another excerpt from a PRAYER spoken by Jefferson::

....."In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen"

March 4, 1805.

Jefferson hated the coruptions in the church, and in which much of it's clergy abided. He loved the pure precepts of Jesus, and said as much several times.
