Hi Al,

Nice grub by the way.

I had written how I selected the stocks in that portfolio. I took Value Line 1 and 2's and put them in a DWA portfolio. I then sorted out those that has RS in X's and above trend. At that time every sector was washed out so I picked those that had reversed up. I selected the stocks by looking at their trend chart and analyzing their patterns and basing activities.

I waited for the NYSE BP to reverse up the second time and also watched the DJIA chart. I was able to determine that the sell off was over and that things were starting to base and move.

I remember at the same time CNBC was declaring, along with guest analysts, that the market could dive like 1987 and even Time Magazine had a cover that week showing people diving off the charts.

I also received criticism from other threads (remaining nameless) that the slide wasn't over and us Piffers would get killed.
I just went by what the NYSE BP was telling me and stuck to that. Turned out the NYSE BP was right.

This is why I've said when it starts to hurt real bad and every one is shouting that the Bull run is over - if at the same time the NYSE BP turns positive - you gotta jump in with both barrels. You just got to.
