Audiovox Communications Corp. Debuts Its First Web Enabled, Micro-Browsing Phone;
Newest CDMA Handset is Sleek, Silver and Oh So Technologically Sophisticated!

Hauppauge, NY, October 11, 1999 -- Amid the international jet set crowd at Telecom '99 in Geneva, Audiovox
Communications Corp. premiered its first web-enabled, micro-browsing phone, the CDM-4500. The dual-mode
Code Division Multiple Access wireless handset uses WAP/Fax Capability to interface with the Internet.

In addition to its data capabilities, the feature-rich Audiovox CDM-4500 boasts voice-activated calling, a
vibrating ring option and a large four-line display. The slim, sleek, silver-colored phone with clear keypad
weighs just 4.5 ounces and is similar in form to the company's highly popular CDM-4000. The handheld
portable phone utilizes the latest Qualcomm MSM3000 chipset and multiple CDMA vocoder technologies to
provide the ultimate in personal mobile communications capabilities as well as state-of-the-art voice quality.

"The CDM-4500 is so much more than a great mobile phone. It's a palm-sized multiple communications tool
that enables cellular subscribers to surf the net, check e-mail and even send messages remotely and
wirelessly," said Daniel McGuire, ACC Vice President.

McGuire noted, however, that the data capabilities of the CDM-4500 are system dependent. "While data
capabilities are not universally available from wireless system operators, Audiovox's carrier partners
throughout the U.S. concur that the ability to interface with the Internet wirelessly is a must for the next
generation of handsets."

The features of the CDM-4500 are accessed via a menu-driven operating system that is activated with a
multi-function key. Among the advanced features of the phone are hands-free, voice activated calling that
enables the phone to dial by voice command; a silent, vibrating ring option; a choice of 15 audible rings
including 11 distinct melodies; caller ID; voice mail notification; graphic address book, SMS (short messaging
service), and telephone number search and address move. The phone also features 99 number alpha and 198
number numeric memories, programmable emergency dialing, IS683A/OTA, one-touch dialing, 10 last number
redial and a dedicated key for voice/message retrieval.

The CDM-4500 comes equipped with a 950 mAH Lithium Ion battery, offering up to 190 minutes of talk time
and 170 hours of standby time when operating in digital mode. An optional 1900 mAH Lithium Ion battery
delivers 380 minutes of talk time and 340 hours of standby time in digital mode. The handset also provides the
latest in authentication anti-cloning technology, the highest level of anti-fraud protection in a cellular phone.
The CDM-4500 standard package includes the standard life Lithium Ion battery, wrist strap and a desktop
holder. Optional accessories are also available
