Jim, the lack of discussion may be, as you say, because most people have decided that Y2K will be a non-event, but I have another slant. I think it's because whatever there is to be learned has already been learned, doomers and pollys alike have made up their minds how they're going to deal with it, and they've already done as much or as little as they're going to do to prepare. Nothing left but to wait and see what happens. Not much left to talk about.

I would expect a revival of discussion when it gets closer and the media start counting down. Over the weekend I saw a promo on TV for a Y2K movie, which should stimulate some reaction. It will be interesting to see what approach the movie takes.
