If I could be as confident that Outlook Express was the cause of such system mischief, it would be banished as well...

And I am also hesitant about IE5. A couple of months back,I put in the Win98 Sevice Pack 1, which included some upgrade for IE4. The Win98SE,(second edition), with IE5, is on my shelf and not installed because of some of the concerns expressed on this thread...
